Terms of Use
These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of HarborLaw at civics.digitalwaterhouse.com, a service operated by Digital Waterhouse LLC ("we," "us"). By creating an account or using the service you agree to these Terms.
1. The service
HarborLaw lets you upload documents and intake information related to a Washington land-use, permit, tenancy, or family-law matter. The system analyzes that content against publicly available Washington law and produces a written brief, optional draft correspondence, and follow-up Q&A. The analysis is automated and may include errors, omissions, or out-of-date references. You are responsible for verifying any citation or conclusion before relying on it.
2. Accounts
You must provide an accurate email address and keep your password confidential. You are responsible for activity under your account. Notify us promptly at hello@digitalwaterhouse.com if you suspect unauthorized access.
3. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the service to break the law, including unauthorized practice of law.
- Upload content you do not have the right to share, or content that contains another person's confidential information without authorization.
- Attempt to circumvent authentication, rate limits, or other technical controls.
- Scrape, mirror, or reverse-engineer the service or its underlying models.
- Resell HarborLaw output as your own legal product without a written agreement with us.
4. Your content
You retain ownership of the documents and information you upload. You grant us a limited license to store and process that content for the purpose of providing the service to you, including by transmitting relevant excerpts to a third-party AI provider as described in our Privacy Policy. You can delete your content by deleting your account or by contacting us.
5. Our content and license
The HarborLaw software is licensed under the Business Source License 1.1 ("BSL 1.1"). Non-commercial use is permitted under that license. Commercial use, including resale or hosted deployment as a paid service, requires a separate written agreement with Digital Waterhouse LLC. Citations to Washington statutes, regulations, and county codes are public-domain government works and are not subject to this license.
6. No legal advice; no attorney-client relationship
HarborLaw is an information service. It does not, and cannot, provide legal advice tailored to your situation, predict outcomes, or substitute for a lawyer's professional judgment. Nothing produced by the service creates an attorney-client relationship. If your matter involves a deadline, a court appearance, or a significant amount of money or property, please consult a licensed Washington attorney. Free legal aid resources for Washington residents include Northwest Justice Project at 1-888-201-1014 and Pierce County Legal Aid at (253) 383-0519.
7. Disclaimers
The service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the analysis is accurate, complete, current, or applicable to your specific situation, or that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Digital Waterhouse LLC and its operators are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, goodwill, or other intangible losses, arising out of or in connection with your use of the service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service will not exceed one hundred U.S. dollars (US $100).
9. Termination
You may stop using the service at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms or if continuing to provide the service to you would create a legal or operational risk for us. We will make reasonable efforts to give you notice and an opportunity to export your content where appropriate.
10. Governing law and venue
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Disputes arising out of or relating to these Terms or the service will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in King County, Washington, and you consent to that jurisdiction and venue.
11. Changes
If we make material changes to these Terms, we will update the "last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you. Your continued use of the service after a change becomes effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
